Background to role:
Vennture acquired the Merton Hotel with the purpose of providing emergency accommodation for those experiencing the effects of homelessness, making it rare, brief, infrequent and non recurring.
Purpose of role:
This role will provide warden cover for the hotel, ensuring guests are safeguarded and the building is respected and looked after. There may be some responsibility for managing bookings and room allocations whilst on duty, along with general upkeep and health and safety duties as they arise.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide some day to day running duties of the Merton Hotel when the Hotel Co-ordinator is not present.
2. Be a safe presence at the Hotel ensuring a caring attitude is displayed to all guests at all times, always maintaining Vennture’s value to Love People Better.
3. Assist guests as necessary in a loving and supportive manner, making sure they feel welcomed and supported during their stay.
4. Ensure Vennture’s safeguarding policies are adhered to at all times for all guests and ensure the terms of their stay are adhered to.
5. Answer the phone and take bookings for rooms. Book residents in and out and deal with problems that may arise.
6. Site security is paramount. Regular walks around the premises are expected throughout the day or night – informing local law enforcement in the event of any suspicious or serious criminal activity on or near the site.
7. Participate in cleaning tasks such as emptying bins, vacuuming, dusting and cleaning the rooms
8. An awareness of health and safety and fire safety procedures is essential for the well-being of the guests and is the responsibility of the warden on duty.
9. During night shifts, it is important that wardens are awake, alert and focussed for the duration of the shift.
About the Role
These roles provide warden cover for the hotel, overnight from Monday to Friday and cover at weekends, ensuring guests are safeguarded and the terms of the stay is adhered to. You will be a welcoming presence, ensuring all guests are kept safe and the building is secure, respected and a safe place.
There may be some responsibility for managing bookings and room allocations whilst on duty, along with general cleaning and health and safety duties as they arise as well as dealing with any emergencies that may occur.

• You are practical and hard-working
• You are happy to work nights and be alert at all times and be available for vital support and assistance
Training will be provided, as necessary, to ensure you feel confident to fulfil all aspects of the role.
