Queen’s Birthday Honours – MBE Recognition
Earlier this year, the Vennture team were delighted to celebrate with our founder and volunteer Rob Thomas, who was recognised as part of the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
The Birthday Honours List “demonstrates the extraordinary efforts made by individuals in all four nations of the United Kingdom during the pandemic, putting others before themselves.”
Rob was honoured with an MBE for outstanding community service during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, as the leader for all of our services that offer support to those in need, whether on the street, in their homes, or going through difficult situations.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said of the awards, “The Queen’s Birthday Honours allow us to pay tribute to all those who have gone above and beyond in their service to this country.
Throughout the pandemic we have seen countless examples of everyday heroes. From those using their expertise to help develop life-saving vaccines, which are now being rolled out successfully to all parts of the UK, to the people who have given time and energy to care for their communities.
We should take heart from the stories of those receiving honours today and be inspired by their courage and kindness. May they be a reminder of all that we can achieve when we come together as a society.”
We’re so excited for Rob to be recognised and celebrated for leading our team to provide lifesaving support for our community and those struggling to cope during the pandemic – he so selflessly commits his time, energy and effort to championing our mission of showing the “Power of Jesus’ Love” in action.
A massive congratulations to Rob and thank you for your committed example of servant leadership!
