Care-Experienced Young People

Supporting Care-Experienced Young People

When support falls away, or trust has been broken before, it’s hard to believe someone will stick around. Many care-experienced young people have been let down too often, making it difficult to trust again.

We’re here to change that with patient, consistent mentoring for young people with experience of the care system.

How we help

Our trained mentors walk alongside care-experienced young people to help them find stability, confidence and connection. Whether a young person is struggling with school, relationships, emotions or direction, we meet them where they are without judgement, and without pressure.

This is long-term, one-to-one support that builds trust slowly. Our mentors become a safe, reliable adult in a young person’s week — someone who listens, reflects, and believes in what’s possible. Every step forward matters.

What we offer

  • Weekly one-to-one mentoring for care-experienced young people
  • Support with school, learning or training
  • A trusted adult to listen, support and encourage
  • Help managing big emotions, behaviour and relationships
  • Positive role models for those without them at home
  • Opportunities to grow confidence and explore aspirations

What makes our support different?

Young people engage with us voluntarily not because they’re made to. That matters. We focus on trust, not control. Our mentors don’t come in with answers but stay alongside long enough to ask the right questions. When things get tough, we don’t walk away. We help young people move from surviving to thriving.
