Zero-Hours Accommodation Officer
Base:
Merton Hotel or The Holly Tree Guest House
Hours:
Zero hours – shifts will be offered as required to cover staff holidays and sickness. There are no fixed or guaranteed hours.
Pay:
Based on a full-time equivalent salary of £25,186 per annum, paid pro rata for hours worked, with an additional 15% for unsocial hours.
Term:
Permanent zero-hours contract, subject to funding and completion of a successful 6-month probationary period

Our Accommodation Officers provide 24 hour cover for the hotels 7 days per week. You will ensure guests are safeguarded and the terms of the stay are adhered to. You will be a welcoming presence, ensuring all guests are kept safe and the building is secure, respected and a safe, well-purposed place.

There may be some responsibility for managing arrivals and departures whilst on duty, along with general housekeeping and health and safety duties as they arise as well as dealing with any emergencies that may occur.

  • You are considerate, caring and non-judgemental
  • You have a good understanding of the issues faced by those experiencing temporary homelessness
  • You are self-motivated and can manage your time effectively; prioritising different areas of work according to needs and deadlines.
  • You are reliable and committed to work to a common goal
  • You are practical and hard-working
  • You are happy to work nights and be available for vital support and assistance if needed
