Last year in Herefordshire, 447 households presented as homeless, with 59 placed outside the county. These are not distant problems. They are happening here, often hidden, and affecting people we live and work alongside.
At Vennture, we believe no one should face homelessness, crisis or isolation on their own. Our work combines safe accommodation with support designed to get to the roots of homelessness, helping with mental health challenges, family pressures and other life crises.
Safe, temporary accommodation
Vennture also provides safe, well-purposed temporary housing for people facing homelessness or insecure housing. This gives individuals stability at their most vulnerable point, while Link Workers help address the deeper issues that caused their housing crisis.

Freya’s story
After more than 20 years in the military, Freya’s life unravelled. Barred from her home, battling PTSD and addiction, she became isolated and homeless. Vennture Link Workers stood with her, connecting her to veteran services, mental health teams and community support.
It wasn’t a quick journey, but step by step Freya rebuilt her life. Today she lives independently, free from addiction, and is preparing to volunteer to help others.
John’s story
John came to Vennture when he was told he had “no local connection” and therefore no entitlement to help. That left him at risk of rough sleeping and without options. Vennture gathered the evidence of his ties to Herefordshire and challenged the decision.
With that support, John secured emergency accommodation and could begin thinking about his future again.
Bright path
Vennture leads the Bright Path partnership programme, now in its second year, tackling the link between homelessness and mental ill health.
In year one, Bright Path supported 65 people at risk of losing their homes. Many were sofa surfing, living in vehicles or in B&Bs, or experiencing a cycle of rough sleeping, hospital, and even prison.
In addition to delivering direct support, Bright Path has trained frontline workers across Herefordshire in suicide prevention, substance awareness, and handling difficult conversations, multiplying its impact across the county.
How you can help
