We have been praised as “highly effective and inspirational” by the High Sheriff of Herefordshire.
Patricia Churchward made the comments during a visit to Vennture’s offices where she was introduced to our work and values, and one of their family Link Workers.
Patricia also sat down with a student volunteer to talk about the Lean on Me project, which provides support for vulnerable individuals during late hours, and a safe recovery space.
Patricia now plans to spend a voluntary shift with some of our volunteers to witness their critical work on the city’s streets.
Following her visit, Patricia said:
“In my time as High Sheriff, I aim to shine a light on those in our community who find life difficult, particularly families with young children. Ensuring consistent care and good direction for parents and children alike is crucial, especially for those families challenged by a parent being imprisoned or absent. It was good to see that Vennture’s projects not only recognise areas of community need but find holistic ways to tackle them.”
Vennture’s CEO, Robert Thomas, who hosted the visit said:
“The office of the High Sheriff has always been a great supporter of our work. We are looking forward to Patricia seeing more of our work in action over the coming months.”
